Living Room (Second Floor)
This prestigious room features an alcove (tokonoma) and a set of staggered shelves (chigai-dana), while gold-dusted kinsunago paper decorates the wall behind the chigai-dana. The kinsunago paper is particularly valuable as it is the only original wallpaper that remains in the Wakan. The room possesses a lighter and freer design than that of the first floor, with a coffered ceiling layout and glass windows lining the entire south side of the room. A circular window is installed on the wall, looking east to the previous location of the Sencha room, a room for serving refined green tea.
